Serving the Homeless and Hungry in Gainesville Since 1980

The St. Francis House homeless shelter and soup kitchen in Gainesville, Florida provides emergency food, temporary shelter, and related support services in a safe, secure environment for people in Alachua County who, for whatever reason, find themselves homeless and hungry.

Volunteer Information:

  • This is a mission to the Homeless of Gainesville. A meal is cooked and served to the residents of the St. Francis House.
  • Plan to arrive at St. Francis House at 5:30
  • Dinner is served at 6:00
  • Plan to be finished by 7:15-7:30
  • Need approx. 6-10 people per meal
  • Feeding 35-40 residents
